Semelia Campbell gate crush death: Man charged

The director of a company which supplied the electric gates in which a six-year-old girl died has been charged with killing her. Semelia Campbell died in June 2010 when she was caught between the rolling gate and a brick post at the flats where she lived off Maine Road in Moss Side. Kriston Kearns, of Offerton Road, Hazel Grove, has been charged with unlawfully killing Semelia by gross negligence. He is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court on 12 March.
