DHF have advised that an incident has occurred recently involving a powered gate that resulted in serious injury for a teen, when a powered gate fell upon them. The gate had been previously reported in faulty condition by a DHF member, and encouraged the owner of the gate to ensure that safety measures where properly met. This same DHF member also rightly refused to work upon the gate until they had agreed to meet these measures. It transpires that another company had acted against guidelines and repaired the gate without addressing these issues, which inevitably has led to this accident...
